Ina May Gaskin is coming to Huntsville!

Ina May Gaskin, the world's most renowned and respected midwife, will be speaking in Huntsville on the campus of University of Alabama--Huntsville. This is a FREE event!

Ina May, who has authored several of the world's bestselling books on the topic, including Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and Ina May's Guide to Breastfeeding, was recently awarded the title of Honorary Doctorate from Thames Valley University in London, England for her work in midwifery and promotion of natural childbirth worldwide.

Ina May will speak on September 9th at UAH's Chan auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

WHNT of Huntsville took time after Wednesday's debate to ask Bradley Byrne and Robert Bentley their stances on legalizing Certified Professional Midwives in the state of Alabama. Walk for Midwives: Save the Date!

We are very grateful to the women who have stepped up and offered to coordinate walks in eight cities! Way to go! This is twice as many walks as last year.

Please note that we have had to change the date again to avoid conflict with local events and football games. All walks will take place on Saturday, September 25th. Save the date!

April Pampered Chef Sale Benefits ABC!

Abby Luca, one of our supporters who is a Pampered Chef consultant, has offered to help us raise a little money. Thanks, Abby! This special sale to benefit ABC will close at 5 pm on Wednesday, April 28th, which will allow time for orders to arrive before Mother's Day.

Here are the details:

A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Alabama Birth Coalition.
Pampered Chef will donate an additional $3 to the Alabama Birth Coalition for every person who calls Abby before April 28th and books a cooking show or a catalog show anytime this year.
At the end of the fundraiser, if the show has done at least $1000, Abby will do a drawing for a Pampered Chef gift basket (a $50 value). Folks get one entry for every $25 they spend, and they get 5 entries if they book a cooking or a catalog show of their own.
Susan Petrus, president of the Alabama Birth Coalition, is serving as the virtual "host" for the sale. You have the option of having your order shipped directly to you, or if you live in Birmingham, you can have it shipped to Susan for pick-up at her house. You will be notified when your items arrive so we can arrange pick-up.

On Sunday, March 28th, Bottletree will open its arms and doors to the Alabama Birth Coalition once again. Maria Taylor, FisherGreen, and Deadstring Brothers will all perform as part of a benefit show for ABC. Doors open at 7 and the music starts at 8:30. Head here for tickets.
