What is your role as the County Liaison to the Alabama Birth Coalition?

The Alabama Birth Coalition has recognized for quite some time now that in order to expand our efforts, we need to be more active in every part of the state, not just the major cities. This is where you come in!
As a County Liaison, you will be the representative of your county that coordinates with ABC and the citizens of your county to work together for a common goal of ensuring the passage of the Childbirth Freedom Act in 2017.
As County Liaison, you would be responsible for the following:
  • Identify supporters within your county who are already supportive of CPM legislation.
  • Educate your fellow citizens on the maternity care crisis our state is facing.
  • Participate in and/or host any local events to help raise awareness.
  • Contact your local legislators regularly to educate and lobby them for passage of the Childbirth Freedom Act.

The Alabama Birth Coalition will help guide you through each step of the process and provide you with the materials and information you need to successfully lead your county. How much time you volunteer is completely up to you! We have created a packet for you that includes a wealth of information to help you get started and a checklist to help you set goals for your county. If you have any questions or concerns, you may reach us via e-mail at alabamabirthcoalitioninfo@gmail.com.
