Promoting the benefits of natural birth

For healthy mothers experiencing normal pregnancies, natural childbirth is the safest option for mother and baby. ABC endeavors to provide public education on the benefits of natural birth so that Alabama mothers will be able to make informed maternity care decisions.

Increasing access to midwifery options

ABC supports legislative and regulatory policies that recognize nationally credentialed midwives and allow them to function as primary care givers for women and infants during the childbearing year. ABC desires to increase access to midwives serving Alabama families in all settings: at home, in birth centers and hospitals.

Forming a community to support natural birth

Citizens of Alabama may join ABC's grassroots action network to discover simple ways to promote access to midwifery care in our state. Those seeking additional information may join our discussion group where members can ask questions and dialog with other likeminded citizens. Membership in ABC groups is free, but donations are always welcomed to enable our work.
